Wazito face Rangers test, Ushuru host Police
The National Super League (NSL) enters round 13 with leaders Wazito FC travelling to Mombasa to tackle Modern Coast Rangers on Saturday.
An average team last term when they finished in the bottom half, Wazito are enjoying a dream opening half of their 2017 campaign and lead supposed giants Ushuru FC, Vihiga United and KCB.
Ahead of their clash, Rangers Head Coach Ferdinard Ogot is bullish and has warned the visitors to expect a tough encounter.
“I know Wazito very well since we were together in the NSL last season. It’s a good team and history has it that in most occasions I have defeated them.
“They always play well but they will have to give me the whole three points. I know their morale is high especially now that they are on the top of the table but we will win against them,” Ogot told Citizen Digital.
Ogot attributed their woes this season to ‘internal problems’ but reiterated they have been solved and hopes their campaign revitalizes against Wazito.
Second-placed Ushuru FC who were relegated to the NSL last season host Police FC and could leapfrog Wazito with a win should the result in Mombasa favour them.
Vihiga United who narrowly missed out on a place in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) after finishing fifth continue their promotion bid at home to FC Talanta.
