Wazito sign former Gor Mahia man Omino

Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Wazito FC have signed former Gor Mahia midfielder Ronald Omino.

Omino is an experienced KPL campaigner having featured for Western Stima, Muhoroni Youth and recently Kakamega Homeboyz.

Omino, son to the  late Kenyan coach Henry Omino is joining Wazito, who have had one of their most busy transfer seasons afte  recruiting over 10 players.

“It is true that Ronald Omino has joined the club but the details of the deal can only be shared by the management,” head coach Fred Ambani told Citizen Digital.

Wazito have done their business this season with much more consideration than in the previous two windows.

Previously, they signed big names who failed to deliver

The approach to this transfer  window  has however been different, earning praise from retired midfielder Eric Odhiambo.

“While fans love and expect big-name signings per se, Wazito have learned their lessons and adopted a prudent approach,” Odhiambo said.

The club’s transfer activity is so far backed by club president Ricardo Badoer; they’ve signed young but established, under-the-radar transfers that did not draw the headlines

So far they’ve signed Maurice Ojwang, Edwin Omondi, Steven Odhiambo, and Fidel Origa from Western Stima, Castro Ogendo from Bidco United, Peter Odhiambo from Gor Mahia and Jackson Juma from AFC Leopards.

Others are Kevin Okumu from promoted side Nairobi City Stars, Jackson Juma from AFC Leopards, Boniface Omondi from Gor Mahia, Kevin Kimani from Mathare United, Mark Otieno from Leads United, and striker Vincent Oburu from AFC Leopards.

Meanwhile, Kenyan midfielder Teddy Osok has sealed a move to newly-promoted Zambian Premier League side Kitwe United.

The 23-year-old has been a free agent and initially Kenyan Premier League side AFC Leopards had been linked with the defensive midfielder.

However, it is the Zambian outfit who have won the race to sign the player.

Despite his good form and undoubted quality, the midfielder missed out on Francis Kimanzi’s provisional Harambee Stars squad for the October friendly against Zambia as well as preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Osok was axed by Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Wazito FC alongside Issioffu Bourahana, Paul Acquah, Piscas Kirenge, and Augustine Otu.

Others released include goalkeepers Steve Njunge and Kevin Omondi. Victor Ndinya, Derrick Otanga, and Lloyd Wahome were not spared either..
