Wazitos DMchulla banking on attackers diversity in NSL title race

Wazito FC head coach Mohammed D’Mchulla has attributed the success of his team in the National Super League (NSL) this season to attacking versatility his playing unit enjoys.

So far, with 15 rounds of matches done, Wazito tops the 18-team log with 37 points, five clear of second placed Ushuru FC.

Wazito also boast of 12 wins and a draw, losing only twice while scoring 26 goals, and conceding only nine.

None of the players enjoys monopoly in bagging the goals, a factor D’Mchulla underscores is working wonders as the campaign to return to Kenya’s topflight gathers momentum.

“They are working very well as a team. We don’t rely on one, two or three players to score. In modern football you can’t rely on one player to get you goals. You have got to diversify risks, and show everyone in the team they can do the job,” charged the coach.

Wazito registered a thrilling 3-1 victory over hosts Thika United on Monday, a continued trend from the high intensity displayed thus far. Poignantly, D’Mchulla notes the intensity has been crucial in bagging maximum points as exhibited against Thika United.

“We maintained our intensity for a longer period and most importantly we were clinical with the chances we created especially in the first half,” offered the coach.

Prior to the game, the former Modern Coast Rangers tactician was wary of his opponents but a brace from Victor Ndinya and one from Derrick Onyango got the job done.

“Football is a funny game. We have to expect a tough game from the opponents (Thika United) and they should also expect a tough game from us. It will not be an easy outing,” said the tactician just hours to the match.

Wazito were relegated from the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) last season, having struggled financially before the club was bought by millionaire Ricardo Bard
