Bandari achieved their target in the Cecafa Kagame Cup despite elimination at the group stage, team manager Wilson Oburu has claimed.

Speaking after arriving back in the country from Rwanda where they crashed out without winning a single match,  Oburu said their players have gained a lot of experience in continental games as well as fitness.

“We got what we wanted in our maiden Cecafa Cup because the Confederation Cup is our biggest assignment so we were after the experience,” said the former Kenya goalkeeper.

He added that they will break for five days before reporting back to  camp for preparations ahead of the CAF Confederation Cup which will take place early next month as well as Kenyan Premier League.

“We are breaking for five days and by Monday everyone will be back in the camp for Confederation preparations,”he said.

Bandari held KCCA of Uganda to a one-all-draw before forcing a 2-2 draw against Mukura of Rwanda and a goalless draw against defending champions Azam of Tanzania.

Another Kenyan representative in the tourney Gor Mahia will take on Green Eagles of Zambia in the quarters tomorrow.

The two clubs will represent Kenya in the continental games, Gor  Mahia competing  in the  CAF Champions League while Bandari will participate  in Confederation Cup.

The draw for the continental games will be conducted after the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt later this week.
