We are focussed ahead of Yanga match- Kerr

Gor Mahia head coach Dylann Kerr has said that his boys are ready to face Tanzanian giants Yanga FC in tomorrow’s crunch Caf- Confederation Group ‘D’ match.

The high stakes game comes barely four days after K’Ogalo participated in the Cecafa Kagame Cup which concluded in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania last Friday.

And despite the fatigue and few rest days, Kerr maintains the boys are determined to put-up a good fight.

Speaking at a press briefing at the Kasarani Sports Centre, Kerr pointed out that his boys will have to be at their best if they are to have any chance of beating the Tanzanian representatives.

“It’s a tough game for us; both teams want to win because any slip up will bring damage. My players need to concentrate …I know we have had very little time to do proper training for this match but the boys know they should put their heads down and focus on the match,”said Kerr.

Gor will be looking for their first win in the group after picking just two points from their first two matches and the tactician has insisted they will have to be at their best if they are to beat Yanga.

USM Algers of Algeria currently sit top of Group ‘D’ on four points, two ahead of Gor and Rayon Sports who are both on two points, while Yanga have one.

“We are focused, we know Yanga are a good side but we are going to give our best. The motivation in the team has been affected in one way or the other in the last couple of days but that is now sorted, the success of this club comes from the players, they will either build me or break me,”Kerr said.

Speaking at the same venue, Yanga FC captain Nadir Haroub said that they have been monitoring Gor in the CECAFA tournament and they know the weak areas they can exploit.

He said: “We have been watching Gor recently and we are ready for them. We have come to Kenya mainly to take the three points back to Tanzania and that is what we are going to try to do and we believe we are going to win,”Haroub said.

Rayon Sports of Rwanda will host USM Algers in another Group ‘D’ match in Kigali.
