We fear no one, purring Mulumba warns after famous win over Gor

Bandari FC captain Felly Mulumba has sent a warning statement to KPL title rivals stating that they’ll treat every match as a final.

Bandari kicked-off the 2018-2019 campaign on a high note, beating reigning champions Gor Mahia 2-1 at Mbaraki Sports Club at the weekend and will be looking to give the title push additional momentum in the subsequent matches and Mulumba believes the dockers  have what it takes to make the dream possible.

Mulumba, voted the league’s best defender of last term opines their opponents should be prepared to face a more determined Bandari.

Two goals from William Wadri and David King’atua were enough to hand Bandari the three points at the expense of the flip-flopping Gor.

“We respect each and every KPL team but we are not going to fear them. It’s only a start of the season but no going back. It(the 2-1 win over Gor) was a tough match but we deserved the three points, you could see that at the latter stages of the match we were abit sloppy but we thank Shikalo(Farouk)for his heroics ,”said Mulumba.

His words were echoed by the shot-stopper who rallied their fans to stand with the team throughout the season.

Shikalo understands the expectations from the coastal fraternity are high after finishing as runners-up last season; their best ever finish in the topflight.

“Gor is a good side, they made it difficult for us but we are happy with the win. I want to continue improving and with our fans behind us, only God knows what we can achieve at the end of the term,” Shikalo told Citizen Digital.

Last month Bandari tactician Bernard Mwalala stressed on the importance of winning their first five matches before thinking of a title challenge but the squad feels they can go along way and challenge for the gong.

The dockers next assignment is a tricky trip to Sofapaka who also started the season with a 2-1 win over Mount Kenya United, formerly Nakumatt FC, and it remains to be seen if the purring Bandari will keep the fire burning.
