We have no choice but to win all matches to finish third- Okaka

AFC Leopards must amass all the possible nine points in their three left Premier League matches if they are to claim a top three finish in the 2018 Kenyan Premier League season, striker Aziz Okaka has said.

After losing 1-3 to Kariobangi Sharks in a league tie last week hence back peddling in their push for a runners-up slot, Ingwe are under pressure to post better results against Tusker FC tomorrow and against Ulinzi Stars on Sunday.

These ties will be succeeded by a potentially bruising battle against Nzoia Sugar on the final day of action and Aziz maintains that his team mates must put their best foot forward as they have no margin for error.

The team has so far had its bonus arrears settled which should act as a motivator in the remaining matches.

“We were at the gym in Lungalunga yesterday (Monday) and today we are heading to St Paul’s University, Limuru for training as we focus on the next assignment,” he said.

The former Talanta FC man has acknowledged that players are now motivated after having been paid all their bonuses.

The league will be concluding on October 10 with Bandari FC and Leopards all keen to finish behind champions Gor Mahia.

The Bernard Mwalala coached Bandari has not lost a match since he took charge of the Dockers in June and was the man to break K’Ogalo’s unbeaten run this term, when he led Bandari to a 2-1 victory over over K’Ogalo on August 7 at the Mbaraki Sports Club.

And for Ingwe, it gets much tougher moreso after seeing their only hope of silverware go up in smoke after they bundled out of the Shield campaign by Sharks at the weekend.

Ingwe who won the Shield last year had prioritized defending the crown but now a top-three finish in the league remains a top priority.

Aziz who joined the Ingwe den in March has had an injury curtailed stint at the 12-time league champions but is hoping to play a part in the last push after returning to full training after months on the sidelines.
