AFC Leopards former goal keeper John Busolo has blamed the team’s decline to weak leadership and lack of structures pointing a finger at club Chairman Dan Mule and Secretary General Oscar Igaida.

According to Busolo, the nosedive of performance is unacceptable and wants the current leadership to handover the club to former players who understand the team well and know the importance of donning the blue and white shirt.

“It is so painful to fans to always go to watch matches which don’t give favourable results to them.

“Former players need to take over the leadership of this club because they understand what is expected at Leopards. Players need better allowances and bonuses to add onto what they earn as salaries,” charged Busolo.

According to the former custodian, the most important thing is the welfare of players.

Busolo argues that making the players “happy” would definitely have an instant impact on the results.

At the same time, Dan Shikanda, a former club player has thrust his hat in the ring and will be vying for the chairmanship position at the club elections set for June.

He is expected to slug it out with business man Maurice Amahwa, Richard Ekhalie and Ronald Namai, who ae both former chief executive officers of the club and former Vice -Chair Vincent Shimoli .

In the midst of leadership turmoil at the den, club boss Dan Mule has taken a low profile leaving a leadership lacuna at the once roaring giants.

“The club has suffered for long because some leaders are not serious with their work.

Leopards fell 1-3 to champions in waiting Gor Mahia in a Kenyan Premier League tie at MISC Kasarani with three matches remaining to end of season.
