Gor Mahia FC head coach Dylan Kerr has favoured an attacking set up for their clash against USM Alger after dropping Ernest Wendo to the bench for this evening’s CAF Confederation Cup at the Kasarani Stadium.

The omission of the defensive midfielder is the only alteration to the starting XI which faced English championship side Hull City FC during Sunday’s exhibition match at the same venue with winger Boniface Omondi named in his place.

Humphrey Mieno, who often tends to drift forward, will likely play the pivotal job in a three-man midfield that includes Omondi and Francis Kahata who will assume the creative roles.

Kerr had indicated he will look to seize home advantage at every turn during their group stage fixtures and has duly stuck to his promise although it is a bold move against a side that hit four against Tanzanian giants Yanga SC in their opener.

Rwandese striker Jacques Tuyisenge will lead the attack alongside Ivorian Ephrem Guikan and George ‘Blackberry’ Odhiambo.

With Karim Nzigiyimana and Wellington Ochieng – Gor’s natural rightbacks – still sidelined with injuries, the tenacious Philemon Otieno fills in again as Godfrey Walusimbi covers the opposite end of the full back positions.

Captain Harun Shakava and Joash Onyango will start in central defense.
