Wokorach sparkles as Kabras rout Mean Machine

Four-try Phillip Wokorach steered Kenya Cup leaders Kabras Sugar back to winning ways with dazzling display in their 41-22 victory over Mean Machine in the Kenya Cup match 12 at the UON Grounds on Saturday.
The match started with a minute of silence to honour the late Richard Sidindi who traded for Kenya cup side Impala Saracens.
Ugandan winger Wokorach was on the run making magnificent side steps against Mean Machine defenders to score the opener with the conversion going wide to give Henley Du Plessis charges a 5-0 lead.
Machine tried a quick response but the referee cancelled their try following a knock on in the buildup.
But it took them some minutes to level the scores after fly half Victor Shavinya scored an unconverted try for Machine to make it 5-5.
Kabras prop Ephraim Oduor landed to the goal line to score Kabras second try after a one two pass with skipper Max Adaka, Wokorach converting the try to lead 12-5.
Aron Otieno almost scored a try for Machine but a well calculated tackle by Wokorach stopped the play.
Machine bounced back with a try after a well taken scrum with Charles Kinyanjui making it 12-10 with Festus Shiasi missing the conversion.
The host got the lead for the first time in the match after number eight Aron Otieno landed to the furthest right corner after he collected a pass from Shiasi who missed the conversion to lead 15-12.
It was a quick response from the visitors who restored their lead from Wokorach’s nice run to the left corner after he got a pass from Brian Tanga after a line out missing the conversion to lead 17-15.
Wokorach’s scored his third try of the match in the goal line converting it to make it 24-15 for Kabras.
Subtitute Malika Habil registered his name in the score sheet scoring Kabras fifth try after a wonderful pass from South African Basson, Wokorach converting it to lead 31-15.
Machine got a penalty try to reduce the lead to 31-22.
Kabras scored two quick unconverted tries from Basson and Wokorach winning the match 41-22 at fulltime.
