WWE Hell In a Cell 2019: Why crowds left disappointed

The most anticipated fight from Hell in a Cell at the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) was between defending champion Seth Rollins and ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt.

A report on CBSSports.com however criticized the match saying:

“The choices WWE made — which are available in our detailed results below — were confounding. From the way the match unfolded to how it finished, the crowd was understandably upset because most normal people who would book that match would come to the same conclusion of what the result should be — or not book it at all.”

Bray Wyatt survived what seemed like 1,000 Stomps from Seth Rollins at WWE Hell in a Cell, but “The Fiend” still failed to become the new Universal Champion.

“A mere two months after returning from a nearly year-long absence from WWE programming, Wyatt seemed like a virtual lock to won his first-ever Universal title and his first world title since 2017 inside the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento” Forbes reported.

The report added that this was evidenced by how Wyatt was protected in his Hell in a Cell bout against Rollins (kicking out after taking double digit finishing maneuvers).

Apparently WWE had wanted Wyatt to come across as a big deal and perhaps the company’s next part-time star.

Although the main event attracted much attention, the other opening matches were also entertaining.

The opening Raw women’s championship match between Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks saw Lynch outlasting Sasha  in a jaw-dropping Hell in a Cell Match to retain her Raw Women’s Title.

The Tornado Tag match saw Romain Reigns and Daniel Bryan win over Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.

Despite a dominant effort by Lacey Evans, Natalya fought her way back into the match  and applied her trademark submission finisher for the win, defending her title.

Charlotte Flair toppled Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Title to become a 10-time Women’s Champion while The Kabuki Warriors used nefarious tactics to defeat Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

The other match in a backstage encounter on the Kickoff Show saw Ali facing veteran Randy Orton, who won with an  RKO rebound.

The event was the 11th under the Hell in a Cell chronology.
