Yanga reject team bus, hotel ahead of Caf clash with Gor Mahia

Tanzania giants Yanga who battle Gor Mahia on Wednesday in a Caf- Confederations  Cup group match at the Moi International Sports Centre arrived last night ahead of the game but their arrival was marred by drama after they rejected a bus reserved for them and instead boarded a City Hoppa commuter bus from JKIA to Roasters Hotel along Thika Road.

At the same time, Yanga, according to Gor Mahia secretary general Ben Omondi , opted to stay at Roasters after rejecting a number of hotels that their hosts had earmarked for them.

Omondi added that the Tanzanian side did not give reason for their actions but said Yanga may be suspecting Gor Mahia may have used charms to derail their match tomorrow.

‘’This is common with most African teams, but I want to assure Yanga that Gor Mahia has never and will never use black magic,’’ Omondi said.

In March 2016, Yanga declined to use a bus and hotel reserved for them by APR of Rwanda ahead of a Caf- Champions League match.

In the just ended Cecafa Kagame Cup held in Tanzania, Gor Mahia also rejected a dressing room assigned to them ahead of a semi-final clash with Azam, preferring to use the National Stadium corridors as changing rooms on the pretext that their dressing room had been “laced with substances”.  Azam went on to win the final.

Yanga will have a test of Kasarani pitch this evening at 7pm .

Gor have two points in the Group ‘D’ campaign that also has leaders USM Algers of Algeria who have accumulated four points, while Rayon Sports of Rwanda and Yanga have two and one respectively.
