Families left homeless as floods wreak havoc in Trans Nzoia

More than 100 families in Namanjalala, Trans Nzoia County have been left homeless following heavy rains pounding the region.
Kenya Red Cross official Ronald Masindano said there are fears of waterborne diseases following heavy flooding. This comes as River Sabwani broke its banks, leaving behind a trail of destruction.
"We are appealing to well-wishers to come to the aid of the affected families, especially those living along the river bank," Masindano told Citizen Digital.
Locals have called on the county administration to help avert further crisis even as they move to safer ground.
""The floods have destroyed our homes and crops. It is unfortunate that the heavy rains have swept away the little we had," a resident added.
